“If a sage traveler steps outside their own nation and views the world as seen from each of Russia, China, and the United States, along with the massive rise in tensions which has occurred between them since the outbreak of COVID, the conclusion must be that humanity is in very perilous waters, including the real possibility of extinguishing itself by war. That overview was provided by Helga Zepp LaRouche in her initial presentation to an extraordinary Schiller Institute conference which occurred over the Labor Day weekend.”

A Note To Readers

Our Feature this week provides you with links to the extraordinary conference of the Schiller Institute’s two day conference of last weekend.

Panel II, for example, “The Role of Science in Creating Mankind’s Future,” had the following speakers:

Jason Ross (U.S.), Schiller Institute Science Advisor

Dr. Bernard Bigot (France), Director-General of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), former director of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA)

Sergey Pulinets (Russia), Principal Research Scientist, Space Research Institute, Russian Academy of Sciences

Dr. Stephen O. Dean (U.S.), President, Fusion Power Associates

Michael Paluszek (U.S.), Princeton Satellite Systems Q&A

And In this week’s report

The U.S. Drought Monitor for California shows just a slight increase of the intensity of the drought over the past week, but, hey, who’s counting? We do have a more immediate problem.

That, of course, is, that not only is California on fire, but the entire West is on fire.

Coverage of the wildfire epidemic this week is broken down into three parts:

First, some articles and reports on the fires themselves.

Secondly, some items that discuss why the number of fires and the record acreage burned thus far this year. This section includes an article on the “anatomy of wildfires.”

Third, articles and reports on how the forests, especially from the decades of absolutely wrong policies set this up. Some reports on the now belated tree thinning and removal programs of both the state and federal governments are included here.

Part three also includes reports on: Related to and independent of the fires is the breaking down of the California electrical power system. While deliberate shut-offs of power during high wind events forces utilities to shut down electricity to hundreds of thousands of customers to prevent vulnerable equipment from sparking fires, the other problem is the unreliable system the state now has because of shutting down its nuclear, coal and gas generating plants in its insane “renewable energy” policy.
