“The reason for the British-led campaign to prevent Henry A. Wallace’s Summer 1944 Democratic Party nomination for a second term as President Franklin Roosevelt’s Vice-President, was solely that Wallace was determined to continue the policies of a Franklin D. Roosevelt who was not expected to live out a fourth term as President. For that reason, and that reason alone, the Senator Harry S Truman whose views were acceptable to the British monarchy, was nominated to replace Wallace on that ticket.”

A Note To Readers
Once again I urge readers to resist the siren song of the voice that may be in your head crying for a return to “normal.” It ain’t going to happen. That, whatever normal happened to be for you, shall never return. The challenge for us all is to shape the future and in that process eliminate the system that has given us the most dangerous crisis in human history.
Notably, a couple of the sections in this week’s report address that directly.
First, honing in on the real topic of LaRouche’s Fourth Law– A Science Driver for the Economy, Dr. Ned Rosinky presents “President Trump’s Project Warp Speed; The Crash Science Driver To Decapitate Covid-19.”
Then the Feature this week is, “The Real History of U.S Agriculture, and More.” A presentation by Bob Baker last Saturday highlighted the role of FDR’s Agricultural Secretary for eight years and his Vice-President for four years, Henry Wallace. As Baker points out, Henry Wallace was one of the top agricultural scientists in the world during that era.
In the Rest of this Week’s Report
Drought and wildfires have begun to make their usual August appearance in the West and Southwest.
Under the title, “COVID-19 and California Agriculture,” is a report on those who ensure that you have food on your table are taking the brunt of the sickness and death in this pandemic. “The virus is surging in the Central Valley, where hundreds of thousands labor in the food industry….”
Next, we note a significant anniversary this week. The Aug. 15 anniversary of the day in 1971 when President Nixon was induced to destroy Franklin Roosevelt’s Bretton Woods monetary and credit system, sending the industrial world into rampant speculation and wage austerity for half a century. In those early days of the LaRouche organization, policies to deal with that crisis were put on the table, but ignored, except by a few world leaders. And today, the updated policies required are again put forth.
And the alternative to those proposed policies are unacceptable, as the “World Food Program Warns Only 9% of Needed $4.9 Billion Has Been Pledged To Tackle Starvation.”
The two items mentioned at the beginning of this introduction then conclude this week’s report.
