What challenges that empire is a population confident in the uniqueness and dignity and power of the human mind to understand universal principles, to act on those principles, to improve dominion over Nature and to wittingly provide a better future for its children and their grandchildren—and their nations and their societies and their civilizations.

“That is the essence of the American System. The American System is not a recipe of a national bank, Glass-Steagall, a credit system, and then some nice big projects. That is not the American System. At the core of the American System is the fundamental distinction between man in the image of a creator—however man may worship that creator—and man as an animal.”

A Note To Readers

The quote above is from the article, “The Battle Before Us,” by my colleague Susan Kokinda, of which extended excerpts can be found in our “Feature” this week.

And in this week’s report:

The U.S. Drought Monitor this week shows a jump upwards of the drought intensity for California. And the new desalination plant planned for Huntington Beach takes another step forward. It has only been since 1995 that the planning began for it.

The battle continues between the environmentalists of the state government and the Trump administration, which is pushing forward on its policy of raising Shasta Dam to give it more storage capacity.

Under my title, “Where Is the Media Coverage of This?” is the report on Trump signing into law $3 billion each year for conservation and parks.

Then a section reporting on “More on the Economic Disaster That is the U.S. and the World Today.”

NASA’s SpaceX Space Dragon Endeavour Demo-2 crew Douglas Hurley and Bob Behnken had splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico Aug. 2, and held a press conference the same day.

“Trump Strikes Again for American Workers,” reports on the President’s action this week to stop the TVA from outsourcing American jobs. Later today, the American workers and Trump won the battle.

There are shovel-ready infrastructure projects ready to go, reports the American Society of Civil Engineers, as they unveiled an interactive map of Construction-Ready Infrastructure Projects in the United States

The “New Green Deal” is Still a Fraud, and the latest model, released on July 29 by heavily MIT-credentialed engineers from “Rewiring America,” appears to be trying to go up against the LaRouche Political Action Committee’s global productive jobs program released in May. The title of this new version is “Mobilizing for a Zero Carbon America: Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, and More Jobs — A Jobs and Employment Study Report.”

The report concludes with the Feature as introduced above.
