Two contending views of humanity’s next 50 years are now before the world to choose:

One view calls for reversing the impending depopulation of the globe caused by global pandemics. These pandemics have, without exception, resulted from failed financial, economic, and military policies, and especially from the complete deregulation of the financial markets during the past three decades.

“The other opposing view calls for a “Green New Deal” energy policy, which will immediately worsen the planet’s present health crisis, and could even result in the death of the majority of the human race.”

From the invitation to the Schiller Institute Online Conference this Saturday, June 27.

A Note To Readers

Often heard recently is the plea, “when will things get back to normal?” Things will never be “normal” again, besides it was what was normal that produced the catastrophe we are in the midst of. So, the question must be “how do we create a future that is productive, sustainable and solves the problems that led to the crisis?” Those problems will be addressed along with the policy solutions on Saturday, June 27 at the Schiller Institute International On-line conference. The invitation follows the U.S. Drought Monitor for this week.

The Feature this week continues our serialization of the LaRouche PAC pamphlet,“The LaRouche Plan to Reopen the U.S. Economy: The World Needs 1.5 Billion New, Productive Jobs.” Chapter 6 is the contribution this week.

Also in this week’s report:

Get the Damn Infrastructure Building Going: Build some dams” reports on initiatives by the Trump administration to get funding for both infrastructure and manufacturing. That includes funding for California water infrastructure projects.

Is It A Megadrought?” takes up the content of a new study that claimes that the entire southwest of the U.S. has been in a megadrought since the year 2000. While the article claims that it is “global warming” caused by man’s activities that is the cause, this one, at least, provides some useful material demonstrating that yes there appears to be some serious climate change affecting at least some parts of the planet.

Next is a short excerpt of Michael Shellenberger’s latest article promoting nuclear power. He is probably the best writer today on the necessity of building nuclear power plants while dismissing wind and solar power as both incompetent energy policy and destructive on many counts. And he is a long-time environmentalist.

This report concludes with the Feature: This week’ installment is chapter 6 of, The LaRouche Plan to Reopen the U.S. Economy: The World Needs 1.5 Billion New, Productive Jobs– Create 50 Million American Jobs To Rebuild The World.”
