“If you look at the long arc of human civilization, it was always fundamental discoveries of new principles which made it possible of the human species to develop and progress and to increase the population density from a couple million in the Stone Age to presently, where we can easily populate all the world and if we apply the technologies we have, we could actually make a Garden of Eden out of this planet already. But new principles concerning our physical universe, to bring a human being from above the Earth into orbit; this was a gigantic step. I think the idea of colonizing the Moon, industrializing the Moon as a take-off station to build a city on Mars, to do terraforming on Mars and take that as a step for future generations to develop interstellar flight and finding out how our universe works. That is what distinguishes us from the animals. There are many people who love dogs and cats and birds; but none of these animal species has ever change their mode of existence. No cat can breed mice to have a better breakfast. They have to sit in front of the hole and wait until the mouse comes out, or not. I think human beings are capable of behaving like the astronauts in their relations. If you look at how the American and Russian astronauts cooperate on the International Space Station, they don’t have fights. They have to cooperate on the basis of reason; and that is the model for the future cooperation of mankind.”

A Note To Readers
The comment from Helga Zepp-LaRouche above is the proper way to think about solving the civilizational crisis that is presently sweeping the world. Whether it is the pandemic, the mass unemployment that has been given a kick from that pandemic, or the insurrection now sweeping the United States in response to another murder by a police officer, or the trillions of bailouts to Wall Street from the Federal Reserve in a desperate attempt to salvage a bankrupt financial system– all of this and more– can only be addressed from the spirit of the ideas presented by Helga.
To that end, this week’s report is focused on the new LaRouche PAC pamphlet:
“The LaRouche Plan to Reopen the Economy: The World Needs 1.5 Billion New, Productive Jobs”
