A Note to Readers
This Independence Day, our report shall present a single item to focus our thoughts on this 248th anniversary of the founding of the greatest republic in human history.
In just two years our nation will celebrate our 250th anniversary, and what that celebration will be, will be determined on November 5 of this year, as we elect the our next President.
I hope the thoughtful and historical material in the following report adds to your Independence Day Celebration today.
The main topic of the article is known today as the “1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exposition,” celebrating the100th birthday of our Declaration of Independence.
186,272 people attended the Exposition on the first day, and over the course of six months, close to 10 million people traveled to Philadelphia for the celebration.
