A Note to Readers
In the Feature this week I post my associate Robert Ingraham’s report from the environmentalist get together in Egypt, called COP 27, where nations of the world have gathered to hear the latest forecasts of doom for the world and bribe each other to reduce CO2 emissions. The article is from the LaRouche PAC. I do like Robert’s title for the article, as it expresses the futility of the endeavor: “COP 27—No Joy at Sharm el-Sheikh.”
The U.S. Drought Monitor for California shows a slight decrease of the drought intensity in the state following some rain and snowfall last week. As the discussion below the map reports, throughout the West the first snow and freezing temperatures were widespread.
This week we have three main sections to the report:
The first is titled, “The Impact of Drought and Insane Regulations on the Nation’s Food Supply.” Between 530,000 and 700,000 acres of the world’s best farmland was fallowed this year in California. In addition, if crops are not planted, then thousands of farm jobs are lost, and local businesses that serve the farm sector are damaged or destroyed.
The second section is, “The Colorado River,” and leads with this sentence: “’Scant progress’” is reported on the states coming to an agreement on cutting water use by 2-4 million acre feet a year.”
The third section reports on the agreement among water districts in all the states on the Colorado River. The title of the section summarizes that development: “Whoopee!’ Water Agencies Announce Policy to Remove Grass to Reduce Water Use from Colorado River.”
All that is followed by the Feature.
