A Note to Readers
We begin this week’s report with the U.S. Drought Monitor maps. The California map shows no change for the past couple of weeks, despite rain over a two week period throughout most of the states.
Then we have a link to a video, “Hell/ No Water: Exploring California’s worsening drought, wildfire crisis.” Produced by Fox-Los Angeles, this 45 minute video explores the drought, water supply and the increased intensity of California wild fires in recent years. The video has a reasonable theme of climate change, without the environmentalist hysteria.
The critical role of California in growing the food that the entire nation depends upon is seen in this report: “California is the ‘sole producer’ of these 17 crops.”
The “Water Year” is measured from October 1 through September 30. Two articles note that the last three years have potentially paved the way for a fourth year of drought. The first is the most thorough, so I include most of it. The second article is presented here with just a few paragraphs and a link.
“California Drought: What will it take to escape drought?” comes next, and this is the answer from one expert: “”Lifting us out of the drought emergency would likely take record precipitation at this time, somewhere on the order of what it took us out of the last drought from 2012 to 2016, which at the time was the most severe on record,”
“California’s wildfire activity is running below average this year. But experts warn it’s not over,” presents the story
Several articles are included in the Colorado River update. The question still remains what and how will the federal government insure that two to four million acre feet of water is cut from what is normally taken from the river. Most of the articles included in this section have just a few paragraphs and a link.
The final section is titled, “A Couple of Articles Repudiating the “Great Reset” and California’s Insane Energy Policy.” The first article is “The ‘Great Reset’ Is Real And Wrecking Havoc” by Michael Shellenberger.
