A Note to Readers
California had some rain this past week. Not much, but some. Definitely not enough to make a difference in water availability for agriculture, but did tamp down some of the wildfires. Though, as the fire people say, the ground and vegetation is so dry, it will do virtually nothing to reduce the fire danger.
This week’s U.S. Drought Monitor shows no change in drought intensity, reflecting the lack of any impact on the drought the rain provided.
There is a general consensus now from NASA and the weather forecasters that California is heading for a fourth year of drought.
We have a few links to reports that farmers are letting crops die in the field, the dairy farms are being hit hard, and a short video on the 50% cut in rice planting this year.
Under the title, “Shall Cattle or Fish Die? The Water Board Cuts Off the Cattle,” is a report of cattle ranchers, desperate to save the lives of their herds, violated the Water Board’s orders to not divert water to their ranches.
The next section is the report on developments on the Colorado River. Arizona farmers will be completely cut-off from water next year, and an anarchistic response is emerging as the states have not been able to agree on the cuts of two to four million acre feet demanded by the Bureau of Reclamation.
Last Saturday, September 17, I was one of the speakers for a LaRouche PAC Zoom meeting titled, “Power to the Grid: Unleashing the Energy to Grow.”
Here is the introduction, and the link to the You Tube replay will be found there.

Europe faces the self-inflicted circumstances of a cold, dark winter. France turns off the lights on the Eiffel Tower. Americans are told to buy electric vehicles and then are told that there is no energy to charge them. What takes the form of an energy crisis is, in reality, a conscious decision to deindustrialize and depopulate—the natural result of an imperial outlook which seeks to halt and reverse human progress. Lyndon LaRouche, Donald Trump, and our Founding Fathers had (and have) a very different view of mankind, which bears directly on the kind of energy policy we urgently need today. Join us for an exciting discussion of what is truly possible, as long as we mobilize the political power to act.
On page 12 you will find the edited transcript of my presentation.
The Feature this week is an article that highlights the quality of the American System of economics that used to guide the nation. “President Trump Evokes President McKinley.”
There have been four Presidents assassinated in our nation’s history: Abraham Lincoln in 1865. James Garfield in 1881 and William McKinley in 1901. President Trump on September 19 at his rally in Youngstown, Ohio, presented a quick summary of the remarkable contribution President McKinley made to the industrialization and rising well being of the American people.
