A Note to Readers

The photo above is from the announcement for this Saturday, September 17, for another LaRouche PAC special event and webinar with live audiences in Texas and California. Our speakers, Brian Lantz from Texas and Pat Ruckert from California, will present a picture of the nation’s energy crisis and solutions which will give us the power required for a productive and advancing economy. The full announcement is on page 4, below.

Not much has changed this past week in regards to the drought, the water crisis in the West, and what will be done in regard to the demand by the Bureau of Reclamation that water users of the Colorado River present their plan for reducing their withdraws by two to four million acre feet per year, beginning in January, 2023.

The U.S. Drought Monitor shows little change since last week, though the storms that hit southern California a few days ago are not reflected in the maps for this week.

The consensus among climatologists is now near 100%, as a third year of La Nina has actually begun. The article below notes that most likely means a fourth year of drought for California.

The drought and water cut-offs continue to impact agricultural output throughout the nation. One of the articles covered this week is the damage being done to the California dairy industry. Of note, California is the top dairy state in the country.

Similarly for rice production. As the nation’s top producer, this year’s crop is half of the historic harvest.

A phenomenon often heard these days is the relentless finger-pointing by non-agricultural water agencies and critics of agriculture, saying that farmers aren’t doing enough. Farmers have responded to that, finally, as covered in this article: “It’s time to stop crop-shaming Western farmers amid drought.”

Under the title, “When the State Cuts-off Your Water, Groundwater is Your Only Option,” you will find this article: “The Mad Rush for Groundwater in the Central Valley.”

Our last item this week is from LaRouche PAC: “United States At Last Announces Commitment To Build 6 New Nuclear Plants — In Poland!”
