“And, whenever the producers have been united against the parasites of Wall Street and the City of London, the nation has made incredible leaps upward in its economic platform. The Transcontinental Railroad, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the Apollo Moon Mission are the most singular examples.”
From this week’s Feature
A Note To Readers
A note of panic has emerged over the past few weeks as the intensity of the western states drought has steadily become more serious, with more and more reports calling it a megadrought, a drought that lasts at least twenty years.
So, we focus on that in the first half of this week’s report, and then highlight the damage that the state of California, through Governor Gavin Newsom is unleashing on the agricultural sector of the state.
The second part of this week’s report begins a critique of the Biden so-called infrastructure bill announced last week. A bill with a price tag of more than two trillion dollars. A summary of that section begins in the next paragraph.
The multi-trillion dollar so-called infrastructure bill now going before the Congress sponsored by the Biden administration is a fraud. A fraud that does not need complaints about it having very little infrastructure in it, but a fraud for what it does not do. In fact, the term “infrastructure” itself is not only a term that misses the point about real economic development, but, in turn, especially in the Biden bill, piles on to it dangerous policies that will ensure that real economic development cannot occur.
As President Trump in the first few months of his administration promoted a return to the “American System” of economics, and did accomplish a few things that approached that policy, like his tariff policy on aluminum and steel, which did save American jobs and began to reindustrialize the nation. Yesterday, even Biden’s Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo admitted such and has pledged to keep that policy in place, even though the Democrats attacked Trump for it at the time he implemented it.
But, the American System is much more than tariffs. It is, as America’s first Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton made clear, a set of policies that ensured our economy would be one that secured the nation as a sovereign republic. That began, as Hamilton ensured with the control by the government over the nation’s currency, debt, and credit, and that power then used to build the roads, canals and more that would unleash the productive power of an increasingly skilled work force.
The Four Laws define a coherent economic recovery program, rooted in the American System of economics:
1. Reinstate Franklin Roosevelt’s original Glass-Steagall law, separating commercial lending activities from Wall Street speculation
2. Return to a Hamiltonian system of national banking
3. Direct federal credit to projects and initiatives which create rising levels of productivity and incomes
4. Launch a crash program for the development of fusion power and the rapid expansion of our space program
What is required to transform the economy to a new more productive platform of real economic development– a new platform of production driven by the most advanced areas of science and technology. Just as President Franklin Roosevelt’s Rural Electrification Administration electrified the entire agricultural sector of the nation, more than doubling farm output, so today the frontiers required to focus on are the development of fusion energy and the space program.
Rather than me discussing further the Biden policy, I urge you to watch at least the opening presentations of this broadcast by LaRouche PAC from today, April 8: “Defeat Biden’s ‘Jobs’ Boondoggle with a Space Platform.”
The two presentations redefine the buzz word infrastructure to get at what is critical in economic policy: What is required to transform the economy to a new more productive platform of real economic development. A new platform of production driven by the most advanced areas of science and technology. Just as President Franklin Roosevelt’s Rural Electrification Administration electrified the entire agricultural sector of the nation, more than doubling farm output, so today the frontiers required to focus on are the development of fusion and the space program. Both of which will unleash a flood of scientific discovery and new technologies.
We conclude this report with the Feature, an article by my associate Susan Kokinda, “The‘Lincoln Revolution’ In Action: Creating a “Producers’ Party” to Fight the Global Elite.”
Here are a couple of paragraphs from that article:
The control that the global elites have held over the American political landscape has, for now, shattered. On March 30, U.S. Representative Jim Banks (R-IN) sent the following memo to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy: “URGENT: Cementing GOP as the Working Class Party.” This comes in the wake of the formation of “Look Ahead America,” an organization launched by former Trump campaign staffers, whose mission statement is to give a voice to the “millions of rural and blue-collar patriotic Americans who are disaffected and disenfranchised from the nation’s corridors of power.”
These are among the most explicit indications coming from Trump layers that the old political division of the nation is over. Throughout most of our nation’s history, the British Empire has exercised its control over the United States by dividing the producing classes against each other. Abraham Lincoln’s creation of a Republican Party, composed of workers, farmers, and manufacturers, and Franklin Roosevelt’s realignment of workers, minorities, farmers, and entrepreneurs against Wall Street, are among the few times that that division has been surmounted.
